Scholarships awarded to two students each year from Napier Girls’ High School and Napier Boys’ High School will receive a total of $9,000, given out over the course of three years.
Named after its founders, Napier philanthropists, Diana and Colin Crombie, the fund is the former Penzance Charitable Trust, which has provided local secondary school students with scholarships for the past 15 years.
The Diana and Colin Crombie Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students from Napier Boys’ High School and Napier Girls’ High School who are going on to any kind of tertiary education.
The two successful applicants will receive a total of $9,000 each, given out over the course of three years.
The Barry Family and BEL Group are offering up to $5,000 as a Tertiary Study Grant.
This grant is available to any BEL Group employees or their family members who are planning to pursue studies in 2025.
This grant is flexible and can be used for various study-related purposes such as tuition fees, course-related expenses, travel, living costs or accommodation while studying away from home. The best part? It’s a grant, meaning there’s no need to repay the funds.
This scholarship is open to Year 13 students from 3 select schools going on to tertiary education. It is worth $2,500 annually for 3 years, making it one of the largest private scholarships in Hawke’s Bay.
Robert France, of Napier, passed away unmarried and with no children in 1887. He left his Coote Road property to his sister, but the remainder of his estate was put into a Trust to benefit local children, particularly with their education.
For 135 years, the various Trustees of the France Trust have been faithful to Mr France’s wishes and worked hard to support our rangatahi. This scholarship has been set up to support one student from each of the 3 schools – Hastings Girls’ High School, William Colenso College and Woodford House.
The AM Bevin Scholarship supports a student going to tertiary studies at Lincoln University. The scholarship is worth $3,000 annually for three years.
