Thanks to our generous donors, almost $150,000 has been awarded to 57 local charities in our 2019 funding round. Grant included $63,000 awarded on behalf of the Tindall Foundation, for which Hawke’s Bay Foundation is the local funding manager.
This year saw 90 local charities apply for grants – the highest number of applications to date, with requests for outstripping the available funding.
Grants were made to organisations working across all sectors of the community, including health and well-being, arts & culture, the natural environment, social services and learning. There were a number of new ‘faces’ among our 2019 recipients, including Westshore Surf Lifesaving Club, Got Drive Community Trust, Arts & Crafts Corner Otane, and Tu Mai Awa.
The Distributions Committee carefully review every application and consider things such as financial stability, organisational governance and a proven record of delivery of services within the community.
Our sincere thanks to our committed donors whose generosity makes these grants possible.
